2/14/2011, Joey, Our Valentine

Our home felt too strange without a dog.  The kids have always wanted a puppy they could train.  We were so lucky to find Joey. He is a seven month old, golden (red headed) retriever, very well mannered, and full of energy.  He is very gentle with the kids and loves to run with Mark and me. We look forward to many adventures and memories together with Joey.

2/8/2011, Abby's goodbye

It is with a heavy heart and fond memories our family said goodbye to Abby on a snowy Tuesday evening.  She blessed us with so many memories in the 12 years of her life.  She was not a friendly greeter of others, but protected her family with enthusiasm.  I always felt safe with her in our house.  When we lived in Grand Rapids she alerted us to people who had broke into our garage in the middle of the night.  When Mark would travel the past few years I was comforted knowing she was on watch.  She was a quiet companion who demanded very little in return for her constant loyalty.  We all miss hearing her tail thumping welcome when we enter the house or get up in the morning.

1/27-1/30, Papa Campbell's visit

Papa Campbell stopped by on his way back to Michigan from Montrose.  

We had a GREAT weekend together!  

He enjoyed delicious meals, lunch out with Mark and a tour of his new workplace, a visit from Dean and Julie, Ethan's basketball game, rocking out in the basement, dancing the night away to wii dance party, and dinner at the Blue Parrot in Louisville with good friends.  

We love you, thanks for coming to see us Papa!
